Today I would like to talk to you about a special day in Chinese culture, the Qixi Festival, or Chinese Valentine's Day.
The Qixi Festival is celebrated on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, which usually falls in August. It is a romantic occasion that originated from a touching love story. According to the legend, there were two lovers, a humble cowherd named Niulang and a fairy, Zhinu, who were separated by the Milky Way. Once a year, on the night of Qixi, a flock of magpies would come to form a bridge across the Milky Way, allowing them to meet for one night.
